East View Joins Jisc Digital Archival Collections Group Purchasing Scheme

MINNEAPOLIS, USA. December 14, 2020 – East View Information Services, a leading provider of high-quality information products and services in world languages and English translation, is pleased to announce its participation in a United Kingdom-based group purchasing scheme lead by UK education and technology not-for-profit Jisc.

The Jisc Digital Archival Collections Group Purchasing Scheme supports UK higher education institutions with a more efficient, coordinated and transparent approach to the acquisition of digital archival collections. With resources offered from a number of international vendors that are currently part of the group purchasing scheme, the programme leverages institutions’ collective purchasing power to lower costs. Through this collaboration, several of East View’s digital archival collections will be available to Jisc member institutions at a discounted price.

East View has selected the following seven collections for inclusion in the Jisc Digital Archival Collections Group Purchasing Scheme:

“East View is proud to be included in the Jisc Digital Archival Collections Group Purchasing Scheme,“ said Kent D. Lee, President & CEO of East View Companies. “At East View, our focus is on developing products and services that serve area studies scholars and digital humanities and we are pleased that our participation in Jisc will increase access to these resources for scholars and researchers.”

Karen Colbron, digital content manager, Jisc said “The group purchasing scheme provides Jisc members with the opportunity to buy primary source materials at more affordable prices, opening content up to use in learning, teaching and research. Since the relaunch of the scheme in November, we have had very positive feedback from users and are looking forward to working with more institutions to widen their access to archival collections.”
