Robert Lee has developed microform and electronic collections from newspapers, journals and research collections for academic libraries in the United States and international markets. He was Director of Publishing at ProQuest Information and Learning Company's UMI Division. Among his accomplishments there is the landmark Archives of the Communist Party and Soviet State microfilming project in conjunction with the Hoover Institution-the largest private/public microform collaboration in history.

Robert Lee earned a B.A. in Russian from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Master of Arts in Russian Translation from Columbia University.
Additional international accomplishments are his roles as researcher and translator for the 1999 Pulitzer-awarded book, Vera (Mrs. Nabokov), biography of renowned author Vladimir Nabokov's wife, and consultant in the development of Russia's Mail.ru web-based e-mail portal, which still enjoys the largest audience of any Russian web-mail service.
