East View Information Services, a world leader in providing information from Russia, has announced an agreement with the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies to digitize the archival collection of NewsNet.
Kent D. Lee, East View's President and CEO, said, "Since 1961 the issues raised and discussed in NewsNet paint a sweeping cultural and historical mural of Russia, the former Soviet Union, and all of the newly independent republics. We are proud to enable worldwide distribution via the Internet of NewsNet contributors' voices."
NewsNet is published by AAASS five times a year for its members and others interested in Slavic studies and the study of non-Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Over the years, NewsNet has reflected the changes in the state of knowledge of and interest in the former Soviet Union and the eastern bloc in the United States. It is one of the best sources for tracing the evolution of Western scholarship on this region in the social sciences, history, and language and literature
